Overview
Joyce Morgenroth received an A.B. in theoretical mathematics from Cornell University, an M.A. in French literature from Johns Hopkins University, early dance training at the School of American Ballet, and modern dance training with Peggy Lawler, Dan Wagoner, and Viola Farber. Morgenroth’s choreography has been shown in New York and on tour. Her first book, Dance Improvisations, is the basis for improvisation workshops she conducted in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Her second book, Speaking of Dance: Twelve Contemporary Choreographers on Their Craft, was published in 2004 by Routledge.
