PMA Lecturer Doorim Kim’s Cinematography Class to Exhibit Photo Installation in Schwartz Center Lobby

This semester, PMA 3580: Cinematography and Visual Storytelling attempted a unique project – to create a story using only 20 predetermined black and white photographs. The completed work, a collection of all the student photo stories in a continuous sequence of frames, will be exhibited in the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts Lobby from Monday, October 7 until Tuesday, October 15.

The video and sound installation will play on a loop, with the black and white 35mm film displayed on a lightbox next to it.

“The world we perceive also captures events within the perspective we create,” says Kim. “We contemplated not only what to include within the frame but also what to leave out.”
