PMA Department Chair and Associate Professor Samantha Noelle Sheppard has joined the Faculty Advancement Network’s 2024-2025 Institute on Inquiry, Equity and Leadership in the Academic Department, as an Ivy+ Provost Leadership Fellow.
Along with five other Cornell faculty members, Sheppard joins this consortium encompassing 13 research universities, including Cornell, seeking to advance diversity and inclusion in the American professoriate.
“I am delighted to be an Ivy+ Provost Leadership Fellow,” says Sheppard. “I look forward to learning more about the systems that shape academia and how academic leaders can collaborate to advance inclusive excellence.”
Over the 2024-25 academic year, the fellows will join colleagues from other universities in the Institute on Inquiry, Equity and Leadership in the Academic Department. Through in person and on-line workshops they will explore campus climate and how to make their departments and institutions more equitable.
