PMA Alum Gloria Majule ‘17 has received a MacDowell Fellowship in Theatre Arts for the Spring-Summer 2025 season. Majule, along with the other fellowship recipients will arrive at MacDowell’s historic campus in Peterborough, NH from March through August 2025 for an average stay of four weeks.
“Announcing our latest round of MacDowell Fellows is always a joy and an honor,” said MacDowell’s Executive Director Chiwoniso Kaitano. “These remarkable artists working across disciplines, represent a wide range of creative voices and reflect the vibrant and essential work of artists as they push boundaries, challenge conventions, and have a transformative impact on our creative community.”
"During my residency, I will be working on a play inspired by the drama and dynamics of the highly competitive and religious women I grew up around,” said Majule. “The play fits into my canon of dark comedies, written for the Black gaze, which center African characters. I am excited to have the time at MacDowell to immerse myself in the world of creating a new story."
