Now Hiring - PMA Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting

Cornell University’s Department of Performing and Media Arts seeks a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acting for a full-time position beginning July 1, 2025. This is a renewable, three or five-year non-tenure-track position. Title will be based upon qualifications and experience. 

We seek candidates who can teach acting across different media and for live performance, and who are invested in innovative, anti-racist artistic practices. A conferred terminal degree in acting or directing, professional experience, and teaching experience at the college level are all required. 

The successful candidate will teach 3 acting classes each term; courses will range from introductory to advanced levels. Required classes will include Acting for the Camera and Introduction to Acting; additional courses will reflect the colleague’s area(s) of expertise. We are interested in applicants who can also teach media performance techniques, devised theatre, physical theatre, voice work, and/or professional survival skills for early-career screen and stage actors. 

The Department of Performing and Media Arts is committed to the development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity. [Pay Range: $51,300 - $80,400] Actual salary offers in the College of Arts and Sciences will be based on title, education, experience, discipline, and relevant skills.
